Gambling
is becoming a serious problem in the society. With the advancement
of information technology and the influence of mass media, adolescents
are more easily engaged in gambling activities. How do we raise their
awareness on the dangers of gambling?
Doudan School ‘GAINLESS’ is the anti-gambling teaching resources designed in
consultation with Dr Gracemary Leung of the University of Hong Kong.
With the use of the e-book and classroom activities, students can
learn more about gambling and anti-gambling. It is suitable for Moral
Education in junior forms.
To increase the flexibility of classroom teaching and learning, the e-book is
designed with interactive elements like computer simulations and
group activities. Students can participate in the boardgame ‘GAINLESS’
(designed by Dr Gracemary Leung) during class. Through sharing, discussion
and reporting, students can gain knowledge of the illusions and dangers
of gambling.
